Assignment Policy
1.Purpose of Assignment
Assignments are designed to facilitate students’ learning and apprise teachers of students’ progress of learning so as to devise the right strategy to ensure the effectiveness of learning and teaching.
2.Policy
(a) There is a wide variety of assignments, including worksheets, lesson preparation, note-taking, research, book reports, oral practice, newspaper clippings, project, etc.
(b) Three types of assignments for different purposes (Pre-lesson, Lesson and Post-lesson)

*Pre-lesson and Post-lesson assignment: Most of them are finished at home, so it is also called homework. |
(c)Assignments are designed by the subject teachers for teaching. Subject heads are responsible for setting up a mechanism to review the quality of the assignments.
(d)Subject heads will design the core assignments, which will be distributed uniformly. All students are required to complete them to ensure the depth of learning and teaching progress in each class. Subject heads will also review the quantity regularly to avoid excessive amounts of of homework.
(e) To cater to learner diversity, subject teachers will design extended assignments based on the core assignments for different classes.In higher-ability classes, extended assignments can serve as a challenge. For the lower achievers, they first help students revise the knowledge, and then facilitate the completion of the core assignments.
